I am a native Vermonter, born in Burlington and raised in Charlotte. For the past 20 or so years I lived and worked in the Boston, Mass. area. An interest in photography in high school lead me to a job at a visual presentation company and eventually to the New England School of Art & Design where I studied Design & Typography. I worked as a graphic designer for several agencies in the Boston area over a period of 12 years.
In 2003, my wife & I decided to move back to Vermont, as I had maintained ties here and we both liked the lifestyle it offers. I am currently the art director for a small company in Burlington that makes custom made lapel pins. In my personal work doing web design I have become involved in the open source software movement and am a strong advocate for open collaboration and problem solving.
Some time in 2005, my friend and VCAM board member Barbara Shatara told me about her involvement with VCAM. I was immediately interested because of the nature of the free, community-based programming and training it offers. When Barbara told me the VCAM board was looking to fill a vacancy on the board, I jumped at the opportunity and was appointed to a temporary post in November of 2006.
I would like to continue as board member and am therefore submitting my request for consideration and vote to the VCAM community.
