Coronavirus - Information & Resources
Let's stick together while staying apart.
The Media Factory may be closed, but we are working hard for you. We continue to work with schools and municipalities to share information, explore the best ways to communicate with remote technology, and do our part to be the community media center you need in this uncertain time.
The Media Factory facility will be closed to the general public through April 15th, and possibly beyond, depending on our state guidelines. Staff members are working remotely to keep things in motion. See more of what we are doing below. We look forward to connecting with you!
What we're working on
Government Meetings in the Time of Social Distancing
Our team is working closely with schools and municipalities to develop new strategies for recording and sharing meetings. We have developed a set of recommendations, you can read them here.
Trying to cover a local meeting or event related to COVID-19 awareness and planning? Contact us and we may be able to help you get the support you need to keep sharing important and rapidly evolving stories from your communities!
Have a Covid-19 story to tell? Share it with us and we’ll spread the word!
We’re all learning from this unprecedented experience, and of course here at the Media Factory we believe that nothing is more powerful than sharing community perspectives. Record your experience on video or audio and share it with the Media Factory. We’ll air it online, on our TV channels, and via our low power radio station. Let’s stay connected.
Working Remotely & Getting Creative
Like so many, we've been busy reacting to these new challenges that have been thrust upon us. Providing services like live meeting coverage, tv channels and a radio station in a fully remote and decentralized environment continues to present interesting challenges that we're eager to meet with creativity and care. Meanwhile, we're working together in the digital realm on some exciting new projects like an app and new Media Factory website.
This is a non-exhaustive list of resources for information from education and local agencies. We are regularly sharing new information on our channels: VCAM 15 and 1074; VCAM 17 South and 1084; and RETN 16 and 1094.
