This presentation will provide an overview of autism spectrum disorder, to include the recent changes to the diagnosis. We will explore strategies that help individuals with autism become more successful and independent across environments and settings.

Julie Smith, MA, BCBA, is the Director of the Autism Spectrum Program at Howard Center and oversees the implementation of school, home, and community-based behavior intervention services for children with autism and their families. She also provides training and coaching services to school and community professionals. Smith has been with the Autism Spectrum Program for 14 years and has an additional five years of experience supporting children with emotional and behavioral challenges.
