Rabbi Raskin explains the meaning of CHUKAT which is ordinance, law, decree. This something that does not have a common sense meaning. It is from G-D.  Some things are not negotiable. This is the story of the Red Heifer. It must be red with no yoke. It is slaughtered, burned and the ashes are mixed with water to purify someone who has become unclean especially by touching a corpse. One could not enter the temple if unclean. So G-D gave this method to purify a person. The spiritual connection one has with G-d is divine. It is not just being in nature or listening to classical music. This connection may lead us to lead our lives with passion and exuberance.
