Interviews at Red Warrior Camp
Interviews with visitors, celebrities and residents of Standing Rock Reservation, showing life at the camp.
Standing Rock Indian Reservation in North Dakota has taken a stand to stop the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL) from destroying burial grounds and polluting their water. Native Americans from over 300 tribes have come to stand with the Water Protectors. I spent 6 days in the Sacred Stone and Red Warrior camps. The camps are sacred, based in prayer for Mother Earth, water and life. These camps have grown to up to 5,000 people or more at times and have become a focal point for people and organizations all over the world fighting for their rights of clean water, protection of the earth, human rights and self determination. People from Europe, Ecuador, Korea, Hawaii, Alaska, Florida and many other states have come to stay in the camps.
Energy Transfer Partners, the Texas-based corporation that is building the pipeline, wants to put the pipeline under the Missouri River and cross water in 200 other places on the way to Illinois, breaking many treaties once again with tribes along the way. The fossil fuel corporations and banks forcing these destructive, massive projects on landowners and communities all over the world are driven purely by profit and show total lack of respect for the land, water, animals and people in the way. This is about protecting life.
