Salaam Shalom: Report on Palestine/Israel devotes the first half of this edition to airing graphic video images and reports on Israel’s use of force, including extrajudicial executions, to crush the popular uprising spreading across historic Palestine. In October alone, 73 Palestinians were killed and 2,250 injured.

This episode features video documentation from Al Jazeera, the Never Before Campaign for Palestine, Ramallah Mix, and the U.S. Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation. There is a stirring video celebrating the bonds of solidarity between African-American and Palestinian activists in their respective struggles against state terror and institutional racism.

The program closes with an impassioned interview produced by the network Russia Today with Dr. Norman Finkelstein, a leading American scholar and activist, on the root causes of the latest uprising, its similarities and differences with the first intifada of 1987, its links to the crisis in Gaza, and the failure of the international community to enforce international law to defend the Palestine people. This program is a production of Vermonters for a Just Peace in Palestine/Israel.

Produced with facilities provided by Vermont Community Access Media (VCAM).
