Kay talks with Judy Peterson, President and COO of the UVM Health Network Home Health and Hospice and Tara Graham, Executive Director of Hospice and Palliative Care. They discuss why home care is so important for patients and their families since people want to be at home and home services are less costly than hospitals and nursing homes. Tara talks about the special role of palliative care and why it is of benefit to go into Hospice care earlier than most people do.

Today, the UVM Health Network Home Health & Hospice employs 600 people, serving all ages from birth through to death all over Chittenden and Grand Isle Counties. Programs and services have been added in response to community needs.

Produced with facilities provided by Vermont Community Access Media (VCAM).
