The Third Annual Creemee Tour
Vermonters take their creemees and their summers very seriously. A rainy Saturday didn't dampen our excitement for the Third Annual Creemee Tour. This year Eva was joined by Galen Ettlin from WCAX and his fiancé Rick Morante as they sampled creemees and food at the Village Creeme Stand in Bristol. This iconic family-run business has been serving ice cream since 1982 and we met multiple generations of the Wallace clan. For the first time, the owners plan to stay open 'til October and will offer fall flavors such as pumpkin, eggnog and caramel apple.
The crew headed over the twisty App Gap to Waitsfield to sample the funky creations of Canteen Creemee Company which was founded in 2016. After we dined on fried chicken banh mi, the massive sundaes arrived. We did our best to finish Bad Larry and the Apple Crusher to the sweet tunes of a Justin Bieber record. Chef and owner Charlie Menard plans to stay open through mid-October and for much of the year - check the website for dates.
Tune in next year for another creemee tour and use the comments to recommend where we should go next.
Shooting date: 9/7/19
Music: Spazz Cardigan, "Skip Rox" & "I've Just Had an Apostrophe"
Rondo Brothers, "Honeybar"
