Despite its small size and relatively low population, Vermont boasts a vibrant and diverse music scene. This panel discussion focuses on the filmmakers who chronicle Vermont musicians. Music docs are flourishing in Vermont lately. What inspires these filmmakers to devote so much of their time to these for-the-love-of-it projects? How do these films find audiences, both in the Green Mountains and outside Vermont?

Panelists include filmmakers Mark Covino and Jeff Howlett (A Band Called Death), Matt Day (Shape of Things to Come) and Alison Segar (James Harvey: A Master at Play) as well as Joe Egan (Egan Media Productions), who has been involved in many Vermont-based music documentary projects over the years. VCAM Director of Media Services Bill Simmon moderates the panel, which was filmed at VCAM on Saturday, October 21, 2012, as part of the Vermont International Film Festival.

Produced by VCAM.
