Want to underwrite VCAM Channel 15 or 99.3FM, WBTV-LP? Awesome.
As a non-profit community media center, VCAM is able to offer underwriting opportunities for businesses and organizations to support our mission. Underwriting VCAM or WBTV-LP can take many forms: monetary, barter/trade, and/or goods and services.
Underwriting scripts, video, audio, or graphics formats can take a variety of forms and lengths and can be earmarked to appear on a range of VCAM’s media platforms– here on this website, our local TV channel 15, (soon) the new low-power radio, at events, and more.
There are some limitations to the actual content of the underwriting descriptions, so please consider the following guidelines:
- Content should be informative, such as the business name, location and contact info.
- It can include tag lines, slogans, branding, product or service listings, as long as it does not overtly promote one business over another. For example, you can say, “VCAM, inspiring stories.” You cannot say, “VCAM, the best community media center in Burlington.”
- You cannot list specific prices or rates and you cannot entice to buy, sell, rent or lease. For example, you cannot say, “six months free with a year subscription.” You can say, “annual subscriptions are available, our website has deals.”
- You cannot use a “call to action” such as, “come to our shop,” or “visit us online.” What you can do instead is say, “our shop is located at …” or “VCAM, online at vermontcam.org.”
Payment is due at the time of underwriting contract signing unless otherwise arranged. Checks should be made to “VCAM” and online purchase can be made via our donation page.
